The Airedale Terrier is a breed of terrier that originated in Airedale Yorkshire England. Known traditionally as the King of Terriers as it is the largest of the terriers. Bred from a Welsh Terrier and an Otterhound it was also known as the Waterside Terrier and used to hunt otters in the valleys near the river Aire which flows through Airedale. The Airedale can be used as a working dog or for hunting.
